Anxiety shows up in many ways. Some people have excessive worry most days for months or longer, plus physical signs like restlessness, muscle tension, or sleep issues. This is often called Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) in diagnostic manuals.

However, experts have discussed for years whether GAD is always a separate disorder. Some argue it may be outdated or redundant because anxiety is more often a symptom that appears across different conditions, like depression, stress responses, or other anxiety patterns. The focus is shifting toward understanding shared features (such as worry, rumination, and hyperarousal) rather than strict categories.

What We Look For

We identify root causes and things that make symptoms worse, such as ongoing stress, life changes, poor sleep, or other factors.

We separate symptoms from personality. The humming mind, restlessness, and repeating thoughts we sometimes explain away with "I'm just a worrier…I've always been this way" or "My family is the same way, so I assume it's normal."

Common Signs of Distressing Anxiety

  • Feeling like your electrical current is turned up a little too high

  • Trouble turning off the mind; the same song replaying infinitely

  • Frequent stomach complaints often lead to multiple medical appointments with clear results. Many people turn to "Dr. Google" for reassurance and clarity.

  • Our hearts race with a surge of energy so intense that there's nowhere for it to go, so we scream, cry, and stomp our feet.

  • Decreased tolerance to stress that leads to frequent feelings of overwhelm, feeling "stuck," annoyed, and disruption in relationships.

How Monarch Telemed Helps

  • We do a full assessment to understand your unique experience.

  • We offer medication management as indicated: continuing, starting carefully, and adjusting as needed.

  • We can integrate brief CBT and other theraupeutic techniques in our sessions to assist in rumination, grounding exercises to calm the humming, and ways to relax more easily.

  • On the contrary, if you're looking for a quick session, just in and out, as long as stability is observed, we can definitely do that.

  • Follow-up visits are regular and focused on you, with no rush.

Many people find real relief with the right support. Anxiety improves for most when we target what is underneath.
